Ants are a regular call alongside cockroaches in Brisbane. You might wake up to a line of tiny black ants heading for the sugar bowl, find small brown ants coming out of cracks in the bathroom tiles, or notice mounds popping up between pavers. Ants get especially busy before and after summer storms, and during hot, dry spells when they come inside looking for water.
When you call, we ask what the ants look like, where the trails are and whether you have seen nests outside. We give you an upfront price and book an independent pest crew working nearby. The crew we book traces the ants back toward the nest where they can and picks a treatment to suit the type of ant.
- Ant bait set along trails so workers carry it to the nest
- A targeted spray around entry points and the base of walls
- Treatment of nests in lawns, garden beds and between pavers
- Checks around windows, door frames and gaps in tiles
- Tips on food storage, pet bowls and cleaning up spills
Like cockroach baiting, ant bait works slowly on purpose. The workers carry it back and share it through the colony, including the queen. You may see more ants around the bait for a day or two before numbers drop. Try not to wipe up the trail or spray store-bought products over the bait, as some ants split into new nests when disturbed.
Keep benches wiped, store sweet foods in sealed containers and rinse recycling before it goes in the bin. If ants have moved into your kitchen, bathroom or garden in Brisbane, call 07 3543 7767 and we will book a local crew at a time that suits you.
